THE RACQUET CLUB at EL CONQUISTADOR is a private, member-owned tennis club in Bradenton, Florida. The club has been in operation for over 20 years. We are part of an active and growing community nestled on Sarasota Bay just one mile from the prestigious IMG Academies, “Bollettieri.” Tennis is the name of the game in this part of Florida and “El Con” is known as the area’s marquee club.
The Club has approximately 300 full time tennis playing members who are extremely active and cover all ranges of age and skill level. You will never end up sitting around waiting for a game at El Con, you will quickly be absorbed by our friendly active membership. In addition to tennis, the club has numerous parties, exhibitions, tournaments and other activities.
The Club has produced one USTA National Championship team and four USTA State Championship teams in the last six years as well as numerous District and Regional winners. League play consists of not only USTA, but the local Tri-Cities Women’s League as well as the Sarasota Area Men’s Senior Leagues. El Con annually places 4-5 teams in the women’s league and as many as 8 teams in the men’s leagues, all at varying levels of play.
El Con is simply “The Best” club in the area. You will not find a friendlier club anywhere. Come visit us and see for yourself.

The Racquet Club at El Conquistador offers 15 beautiful har-tru courts, 10 of which are under lights. The Racquet Club also has a fantastic viewing deck over centre court to host matches and club events. The club also offers pub style eats and a full bar for it members and guests along with a well stocked pro shop. The pro shop also offers professional racquet stringing.

When you walk out to play tennis on El Con's excellent courts, you will find special emotions and satisfaction because you will become part of a tennis family that is unique. You will be hitting on the courts that Pete Sampras, Mary Pierce, the Williams sisters, Petr Korda, Tommy Haas, Sandra Cacic and Anna Kournikova have graced with their game.
You and your family will be able to play at any level you wish. You may wish to play singles or you can join groups at any level. You can play in team leagues where you travel with great players to compete with 10-12 clubs in a 50-mile area and you can play on teams in USTA leagues ranging from 3.0-5.0 levels. El Con has a record of winning several league championships each year so it is possible to compete at the highest level.
I highly recommend you enter El Con's weekly round robins. You will meet and play with many different players in each one and half hour session in a wonderfully competitive atmosphere. You will be fully accepted and tested by the great El Con members. You may even face a drop shot now and then...
So now you know some of the events and people who make this tennis family a most enjoyable experience. You will find that this is a very special club and that you will be treated as a very special person at El Con.
I can tell you when you move over one of the 15 beautifully kept Har Tru courts, your feet and legs will float with the joy of being part of a famous tennis family. Some of us have played all around the world, and we say this is the best tennis family anywhere.

Membership
There are several different membership types available at El Con including; Single, Family, Social, Junior, Temporary, and Under 50 (Rates can be viewed on the next page). The club has a great history and a friendly membership that creates a true "family" atmosphere.
Membership at El Con provides you with all the play you can handle for just your dues (no additional court fees). You may bring guests to the club for an $8.00 per day guest fee. Your membership also gives you full charge account priveleges for the pro shop, bar & grill, event fees, and clinics & lessons. Events include such things as parties, karaoke nights, "Italian Dinner" nights, pancake brunches, cookouts on our beautiful deck, tennis exhibitions, and much more.
Best of all, your membership gives you access to great tennis playing opportunities; leagues, round robins, tournaments, clinics & lessons. You will also have the ability to arrange your own games and play with friends and family. El Con is a very "tennis active" club.
Court reservations are available weekdays from 8:30AM to 8:00PM in 1 1/2 hour blocks, with limited times from 1:00PM to 3:00PM for grooming and watering. Weekend court times start at 8:30AM and run through 6:00PM when the courts are closed for the day (to groom & water). These reservations may be made by phone or in person.
Membership in El Con provides more play, more social activity, more diversity, and more FUN than any club in southwest Florida. Come in, look around, play some tennis and you will be "hooked." We welcome all prospective members to come check us out.

The El Conquistador Racquet Club welcomes the dynamic father-son duo of Hugo Armando Sr. & Hugo Armando Jr. to the club to take over the tennis instruction responsibilities. Both Hugos are exceptional coaches with tremendous tennis backgrounds. Hugo Jr. was a highly ranked touring pro for many years and Hugo Sr. has been teaching tennis for 40 years. They have been members of the local tennis community for decades and are very familiar with our club and the membership. Their junior academy, Armando Tennis, located at our club is highly successful and well respected.
