EL
CON’S SECOND ANNUAL “YARD SALE”
BIG $UCCE$$
The second annual “El
Con Yard Sale” generated nearly $1,700 for the
club. The parking lot was packed with various sale
items and baked goods. Debbie Flint and Donna Morrison
did the coordinating for this year’s sale and
were assisted by MANY wonderful volunteers. The club
thanks all of you who donated items and/or donated
your time and effort. Events like this are successful
only as the result of hard work and dedication by
club members. Thanks to everyone who participated!

"PUB NIGHT - GREAT
FUN!
The club's first Pub Night
and Trivial Quiz was a great deal of fun and a real
"brain teaser" for the 60 in attendance.
Host Allan Grainger had a marvelous set of questions
and did an excellent job in dividing the group into
teams. The brains and memories were working overtime
and the spirited competition was fierce. Meanwhile,
Frank Grasso prepared a great meal of "bangers
& mashers" served to the guests by our wonderful
"waitresses" Val Grainger and Florence Grasso.
Many thanks to both these great couples!
It was a lot of fun and
we look forward to doing it again next year. So, study
up on that trivia!

PLEASE SUPPORT OUR TENNIS
PRO!
We have a great new tennis
pro at our club, Ciara Finucane. We need to support
her through lessons and clinics. She is an independent
contractor and derives her income from lessons and
clinics. Give Ciara a try and you will surely have
a good time and learn a lot of tennis. There is always
room to improve your game.

CHILI COOK-OFF SCHEDULED
MARCH 21
The club’s annual
Chili Cook-off competition, postponed because of cold
weather in January, has been re-scheduled for Sunday,
March 21 at Noon. We have the “Great 8”
contestants established by sign-up (Lon Shields, Jim
Wilson, Paul Rodhouse, Frank Grasso, Bill Schlacks,
Annie Hunter, Fred Hinesley, and Jeff Smith), and
look forward to some fantastic competition and chili.
It will be a “Hot” time on the deck.
Last year’s winner
was Jim Wilson, and our group of challengers will
be out to dethrone Big Jim. We are hoping for a big
crowd of tasters and judges. Cost will be $5 per person
for all the chili you can eat and to “buy”
your one vote. We will have tennis exhibition play
on center court. Sign up early.

THANK YOU TRAVEL NOW
AND OUR EL CON “CRUISERS”
Thank you to those of you
who took the “cruise with El Con” IN January
through Vicki Breneman and Travel Now. The cruise
brought in a nice little bonus commission of $400
for our club.
